Veronica Larre

I am a global learner and creative human passionate about exploring diverse cultures and pursuing interdisciplinary fields.
My academic background includes an MSc in Psychology, and MSc in Psychology of Education, a PGD in Higher Education, an MSc in Product Design Management, and a BA in Design.
As a third-culture citizen, I have lived in numerous countries, including Panama, Mexico, Argentina, France, Spain, Belgium, and China, and I currently reside in the UAE. My professional experiences are equally diverse and encompass various fields, such as psychology, art education, digital art, product management, and textile and surface design.
I am constantly seeking new opportunities to learn and grow. My unique background and skills allow me to approach problems and projects from a fresh and innovative perspective.
Teaching Philosophy:
As an art educator, I view the classroom as a dynamic, inclusive space where creativity, cultural exchange, and interdisciplinary thinking intersect. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that art is not only a form of expression but also a powerful tool for critical inquiry, identity formation, and global understanding.
With a background spanning psychology, design, and education, I approach art teaching through a holistic lens—one that nurtures both technical skill and emotional intelligence. I aim to foster environments where students are encouraged to explore their unique voices while engaging meaningfully with diverse cultural perspectives. Having lived and worked across multiple continents, I bring a global sensibility to my practice, encouraging students to think beyond borders and consider the social, historical, and psychological contexts of their work.

With over a decade of experience in education and performance, I currently lead the Primary Arts Department at Dubai International Academy, where creativity, community, and expression take center stage. Holding a master's in psychology and education, along with a bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, my academic and artistic background deeply shaped my teaching philosophy, one that blends emotional awareness with imaginative exploration.
I am deeply passionate about nurturing creativity, emotional intelligence, and resilience in young learners through the transformative power of the arts. I believe the arts are not just a subject, but a language of connection, identity, and possibility. As a globally published author, I advocate for the vital role artistic expression plays in shaping confident, inspired, and empathetic individuals.
Teaching Philosophy:
The arts, in my philosophy, are essential tools for nurturing self-assured, expressive, and emotionally intelligent learners. I strive to create an inclusive, dynamic environment where students are empowered to explore their identity, embrace creative challenges, and collaborate meaningfully with their peers.
The artistic process goes beyond skill development it fosters resilience, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking. Through thoughtfully designed lessons and authentic performance opportunities, I guide students to take ownership of their creative journey and express their unique voices with confidence.
My commitment to holistic development extends beyond the classroom through initiatives like the Parents-led Arts Workshop and DIA Community Arts Day, which celebrate creativity and build meaningful connections within our school community.
